I've used an SQR system attached to a long flap camper for a few years, mostly for commuting. It's really strong and simple to use.
I wanted a smaller bag for day rides and received a Nelson as a gift. As I really like the SQR system, I bought a frame and use it on the existing SQR bracket on my bike.

My wife found this works really well with her tweed saddle bag. Two birds with one stone. (obviously you need the SQR seat post bracket too).
