The updated Carradice Duxback Rain Poncho builds on a long tradition of practical British wet weather cycling gear, refined for modern commuting and everyday riding.

Made from 6oz waterproof P200 EverWax™ dry cotton duck, it provides reliable rain protection while remaining breathable and comfortable on the bike. The extended rear cut helps cover the saddle and handlebars, while an elasticated helmet compatible hood, internal waist belt, and wrist loops keep the poncho stable while riding.

When not in use, it packs into a compact drawstring carry bag with a reflective Carradice logo, easy to carry over the shoulder or attach to cycling bags or racks.

Just works, absolutely saved me from thunderous downpours this summer. Minor criticisms include slightly waxy/greasy when brand new with very minor oily residue on hands first couple uses. It’s really quite heavy which makes carrying it “just in case” a slight issue but I strap it to the bike rather than in a bag on my back which negates this. The weight also means it doesn’t blow around much at all, a bonus. When it’s freezing the wax solidifies a bit which can make it a touch rigid. In general I really rate this with some overshoes/waterproof leggings in absolute downpours and stay completely dry without the horrible boil-in bag of jacket and waterproof trousers. Also found it’s big enough to easily carry a large messenger bag underneath. And it’s true people do smile at you more when wearing it! If it came in a brighter colour I’d buy a second in a heartbeat.
