Just bought the black Baja bag and after a short trial ride, rode on a 200km Audax combined with a small top bar bag and a small tool pouch behind the saddle. It was a great combination. The Baja bag attached easily with the foam spacers keeping the bag clear of my hands and handlebar-mounted lights and Garmin. It is a simple bag which I liked, but the small cover pocket is ideal for lip balm, tinted glass lenses & mini sachets of chain lube and chamois cream. The main compartment easily held three spare tubes, spare gloves, warm mid-layer, waterproof jacket and a big bag of Squashies (sweets) to get me through the day. There was room to spare, and I could have packed far more efficiently. There was no movement from the bag which was mounted with the spacers facing downwards, made zero impact on handling, and I could still see the front wheel with the bag well clear of any potential wheel rubbing. I noted the comments on the popper closures, which are perhaps a little fiddly, but I like them as they also seem robust, and hate too much Velcro everywhere.
I bought the bag specifically for riding the South Downs Way and not wanting to carry a waist pack or rucksack. Was really stable attached to my mountain bike and big enough to hold everything I needed for a full days riding. Will be using regularly now and would definitely recommend
I really like this bag, probably perfect size for all the bits and bobs you want quick access too. The low key installation is good and the way it hangs does not affect the handling and balance of the steering, yet you can still use the width of the handle bars.
Carradice do a great job on functionality.opening closing , the correct amount of pockets etc. I just might like a flap that opens forward in the direction of travel. But that's a maybe, it might make access while riding easier.
Handy no drama bag, easy to fit and remove. Great visuals and weather resistance Carradice are just easy to use.
Pairs very well with Audax C or Bikepacking seatpost bag.
Both bags are sturdy, functional and, being Carridice, built for longevity too. I've been using Carridice since the mid Sixties and, for me, they still offer the same excellent quality and design.
Nice and bright!. Need to add some spacers so it sits below the brake cables (I've got flat not dropped handlebars
