The best!
Setup on the front handle bar (with the Handlebar Spacers for Saddlebags) and is working great: no rack, no wobble! The retro is very aesthetically pleasing. I'll be keeping a eye out for other retro offerings, especially the nelson.

Perfect Commuter Bag
All right, if you’re like me you’re thinking to yourself: “that’s one gorgeous bag, but will it really fit everything I need for my commute?” Well here ya go, everything I fit into my Nelson longflap:
- Shoes
- slacks
- undershirt
- dress shirt
- rain jacket
- deodorant
- hair brush
- sunglasses case
- flat repair kit
- coffee thermos
- water bottle
- snacks
And this is all WITHOUT the flap extended. Extend the flap, and I can also fit:
- lunchbox
- gloves
- balaclava
- book
With the quick-release system, it’s beautifully supported while being easy to remove and put on, once you get the hang of it. I’ve ridden in the rain with it 6 times now and my stuff is completely dry every time. The best bag on the market for this price.

Great All Around Bag
I purchased this and the bagman quick release support about two months ago. In addition to using this for my daily commute, I recently took it for a four night bike tour over varied terrain. It's a great bag for all purposes.
Size is perfect. For commuting, it has plenty of space for my lunch and a change of clothes for the gym. On the tour, it held my tent, ground cloth, sleeping pad, cook set, emergency kit, electronics, and various other small items. I especially appreciated the outside pockets for things like a water filter that I needed regular access to. I even had room to carry a camp chair, held in place by the top flap. The D rings allowed me to strap a solar light to the top, letting it charge all day as I rode. (See pics for the gear and the loaded bag)
Combined with the bagman support, It's very stable and has no noticeable impact on bike handling. No heal strikes like panniers or bag sway like traditional bike packing saddle bags. I rode many miles of very rough gravel roads and never had to adjust or tighten anything.
I can't speak to waterproofness, as I have not had it in the rain yet.
Combined with the quick release support, the bag is also very convenient to use. It takes seconds to attach or remove the bag. In addition to allowing easy transport of the bag from bike to office or tent, the quick release bagman support comes in very handy when changing a flat tire. The bag pops right off, allowing for much easier wheel removal and reinstall than if the bike had a bag or pannier rack.
Finally, I could not be more pleased with the looks.
I ordered an original Barley Tweed Bag and my intention was to get the quick release support with it as a bundled offer. Unfortunately, I clicked the wrong button and then realized my mistake. No problem. Anya from customer service was pleasant and quick to make things right for me. This was my third order from Carradice and there’s a reason why I keep coming back. Attached is a photo of the bag on my vintage Raleigh Tourist. Please note that the quick release is not designed to fit on a sprung saddle but as an engineer and machinist, I love a challenge. Great product and great company! Thanks Carradice and Anya!
