Out on a limb. 300 miles from the Norwegian coast. Carry on west, and it'll be another 500 miles before you make landfall again. Remote doesn't really cut it when discussing the Faroe Islands.

From the comfort of our laptop screens, we've been following photographer and filmmaker, Simon Pouyet, as he prepared for a bikepacking project in Iceland, by riding the Danish west coast, before crossing the North Sea to reach the Faroe Islands.

Over email, Simon said that the "islands have everything on offer that we will encounter in Iceland. Heavy wind combined with rainy days." You're telling us, Simon! Apparently it rains over 200 days a year. That's 60 days more than Nelson!

Simon continued: “Faroe is an archipelago of many islands, linked by endless tunnels up to 6kms, long! That takes an incredibly long time on a bike! There’s been some amazing single tracks, some on exposed cliffs and some others we’ve had to take on foot.”

Here’s a short video to live the best (and the worst) moments of their trip.
